PROTEK Group of Companies is considered one of the largest among modern pharmaceutical companies. It is represented in all major segments of the industry: production, distribution and retail sales.

The history of Protek began in 1990, when graduates of the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology Vadim Yakunin and Grigor Khachaturov founded their Protek Implementation Center for trading and intermediary activities.

History tour

By the way, the company carried out its activities in several areas, as well as in information technologies. But the priority area, a couple of years after the founding, was the distribution of pharmaceuticals, the supply of medicines to Russia from large Hungarian pharmaceutical companies: Gideon Richter, Biogal, Egil, Hinoin. And following the results of 1995, the Center for the first time became the leader in the ratings of pharmaceutical importers in the Russian Federation.

The company also works with domestic manufacturers. In 1994, regional branches were opened in St. Petersburg and Volgograd. With pharmacies, a modem connection is established. Among Russian pharmaceutical distributors, this was the first experience.

Things were going well, and in 1999, Lek, Alkaloid, and Nycomed were the partners of Sotex FarmFirma. Its purpose is the packaging and packaging of medicines. Later, the main production of the Group will be concentrated at the enterprise.

By the beginning of the new century, PROTEK CV had 39 branches and 15 regional representative offices, and a retail business was launched - the first Rigla pharmacy begins work, the start of the future network.

As a result of the restructuring, OJSC Protek is formed. It becomes a unifying link, the parent company of all business segments and subsidiaries, and affiliates, which appear:

  • PROTEK-SVM LLC - a distributor of substances, a manufacturer of medicines under a contract (2003);
  • PROMOFARM LLC - a company providing marketing services for pharmaceutical manufacturers and brand owners (2003);
  • CJSC "Spargo Technologies" - a developer of information technology services for participants in the pharmacological market (2004);
  • sotex FarmFirma plant (2005), where ten ampoule drug production lines were launched one after another over ten years;
  • terminal for customs warehouse processing of pharmaceutical goods TST Transservice (2006 - first stage, 2007 - commissioning).

Towards its 25-year milestone, Protek has become the largest Russian pharmaceutical holding company, it has gone through the stages of formation - this includes building the distribution business of CV PROTEK, developing the Rigla retail chain and expanding Sotex production.

He introduced new medicines to the domestic pharmaceutical market - Flamadex, Napilept, Lipothioxon, Ketoaminol, Ornilatex, Selamereks.

The number of drugs under its own brands (Private label) in its production portfolio is approaching 60. And the Group supplies its own products to 8 importing countries.

Modern "PROTEK"

At the 27th year of its existence, the Group of Companies, among the key pharmacological Russian companies, operates in all major segments of the pharmaceutical industry and has a diversified business structure. She sells her own (and not only) pharmaceutical products wholesale and retail through her pharmacy network: Rigla, Be Healthy and Zhivika.

The group supplies large-scale medicines to government agencies. And this is one of the secrets of her success. She became a partner of the state in the implementation of the program of additional drug provision (DLO) for preferential categories of citizens in 2005.

Protek considers the principles of transparency and openness, concern for the beauty and health of people as its priorities.

Thanks to vertical integration in the group, it is possible to control the quality of goods at each stage of its promotion, to respond instantly to changing market demands. The companies of the Group are at the same time suppliers and customers for each other, which allows us to fully meet the needs for the goods in the quantity and quality required for the successful organization of the production process.

All this makes the company's position competitive in any market segment. And on the domestic distribution market, Protek became the No. 1 absolute. It is this segment that forms almost 80% of PAO's revenue.

Chain "Production - Distribution - Retail"

The distribution area provides a decent level of storage and logistics services, so manufacturing companies do not need to spend their efforts searching for product sales schemes.

In the pharmaceutical market, Protek is more than confident. Even the September 2016 agreement on partnership of the pharmaceutical distributor SIA International with the retail group X5 Retail Group, which envisages the opening of 3.3 thousand pharmacies in the retail chains of the largest domestic retailer, did not shake this confidence and allowed the President of Protek to state that its share companies in the market will not only not decrease, but even increase.

The high performance that the company demonstrates is an excellent confirmation of the effectiveness of the management and all its employees.

Financial position

The company has a rather strong position in the pharmaceutical market of Russia, it constantly increases the profitability of its own business.

Efficient operating activities in each market segment and reduction in operating costs allowed the company to achieve positive financial results. Almost doubled in five years, consolidated revenue increased. According to the results of work for 2016, it amounted to 241,482 million rubles.

Source: official website of the company

“We were satisfied with the 2016 revenue growth indicators, we will try to keep them in the future” (V. Muzyaev, President of Protek PJSC).

The company demonstrates a steady increase in revenue, which means its position in the Forbes magazine ranking. According to the results for 2016, among the two hundred largest private companies in Russia, it occupies the 29th line.

The interview was conducted by two managers, a young girl and a man. The impression is that these people used to work as waiters and their level of professionalism in conducting negotiations and interviews is simply absent, although they are heads of the marketing department.

Work in Protek belongs to one of the higher classes of harmfulness, only not a word about this when employed. There is no surcharge for harmfulness, much less the retirement period. You start asking what’s the salary - everyone pretends that they don’t understand anything! Just a nightmare! Do not waste time on this office - they know how to dust, but in fact one emptiness!
