Marvel Heroes: First Class. Let's start playing

Especially for people who are interested, we decided to prepare a series of guides to Marvel Heroes, which will help beginners to understand all the intricacies of the gameplay as quickly as possible. Today we will talk about what Marvel Heroes is, how to start playing and what decisions you have to make at the very beginning of the game.

What is Marvel Heroes?

Marvel Heroes is an Action RPG/MMORPG hybrid from David Brevik, creator of games such as Diablo, Diablo II and Hellgate: London. Key Feature gameplay is to abandon the traditional class system in favor of huge number various heroes of the Marvel universe, the number of which in the game exceeds several dozen and is expanding monthly. Among the available heroes in Marvel Heroes you can meet such famous characters as Spider-Man, Hulk, Iron Man, Wolverine, Captain America, Thor, Black Widow, Hawkeye and many others. Each of the heroes in Marvel Heroes has approximately the level of refinement of the Diablo II classes, which allows developers to create an almost endless number of gameplay options.

Preparation.

So, are you ready to become a superhero and plunge into the world of the Marvel Universe along with other players? Starting to play Marvel Heroes is very simple, because the game is distributed on a shareware model. The first thing you need to do is create an account on the official website of the game. When registering, you must provide the name of your account, which will be used as your name inside the game to interact with other players. Choose your name responsibly, as changing it is a paid service.

Your second step should be to get a game client with which you will play Marvel Heroes. Players are offered two client options: independent of developers and tied to the Steam digital distribution service. Russian-speaking players are advised to use the Steam client for two main reasons: firstly, the speed of downloading and installing updates may be higher due to the proximity of the Steam servers; secondly, players living in Russian Federation and those who play through the Steam client are offered significant regional discounts on all purchases in the game store. Please note that you must have a Steam account in order to use the Marvel Heroes Steam client, which you can create.

Choose your destiny.

After downloading the game client and logging into the game under your account, the first thing you will need to do is choose 1 of the 12 starting heroes. You cannot change your choice of starting hero without creating a new account, and therefore you need to take this decision very responsibly: it greatly depends on whether you enjoy the game. To facilitate the selection process, we invite you to familiarize yourself with brief information about each of the starting characters.

  • Black Panther (Black Panther): the king of the technologically advanced country of Wakanda and a dexterous melee fighter who uses claws, daggers, special devices, the blessings of the panther god, and also calls on his personal bodyguards - Dora Milazh.
  • Black Widow (Black Widow): A nimble Russian spy who is proficient in close combat and uses firearms, explosives and various special devices to crack down on opponents.
  • Captain America: legendary super soldier and World War II veteran Steve Rogers, armed with a shield made of the incredibly rare metal vibranium, capable of absorbing any energy. In the game, he is an excellent melee fighter with leadership skills and buffs for the group, and uses a shield to defend and attack.
  • Colossus: Russian mutant Pyotr Rasputin, who grew up on a Siberian collective farm and has the ability to turn his skin into organic metal, becoming incredibly strong and tenacious. In Marvel Heroes, he is a strong melee fighter with high durability and group-buffing abilities.
  • Daredevil: Blind lawyer Matt Murdock actually has acoustic vision and fights crime in the form of Daredevil, presented in the game as an agile melee fighter with a complex system of punch combinations in the spirit of the Diablo II assassin.
  • Hawkeye (Hawkeye): incredibly trained archer Clint Barton, armed with a bow and a whole range of different arrows for all occasions. He is also trained in basic hand-to-hand combat skills, which, however, he practically does not use.
  • Human Torch: reckless Johnny Storm, the most important show-off of the Fantastic Four. It has the ability to emit fire and manipulate it in a variety of forms, however, against the background of high damage, it has a rather weak level of protection.
  • Luke Cage:"street hero" and melee fighter, who has a simple combo system and uses improvised means, such as crowbars, chains, machines and other things. Has a separate line for summoning his friends from the Hero Mercenary team, like Iron Fist and many others.
  • Punisher (Punisher): Vietnam War veteran Frank Castle, who lost his family in a gunfight. As a goal for himself, he set the extermination of representatives of crime in especially cruel ways. In the game, he is a ranged fighter using a wide range of firearms and explosives.
  • Rocket Raccoon: space raccoon, one of the brightest representatives of the Guardians of the Galaxy. Armed with high-tech weapons, various traps, and when he gets really bad, his best friend, Groot, comes to the rescue.
  • Scarlet Witch: the daughter of a mutant Magneto named Wanda Maximoff, who has the ability to manipulate reality and probability through chaos magic. The game is presented as a ranged fighter, using various spells and curses to exterminate groups of adversaries.
  • Storm: mutant Ororo Monroe, able to control the weather. In Marvel Heroes, she uses lightning strikes, typhoons, blizzards, and other expressions of elemental fury to destroy villains.

By choosing one of the starting characters, you will be forced to play it until you open another one in one of several ways.

The first way is to buy a new hero for special kind game currency, Shards of Eternity, in any city with Adam Warlock. Shards of Eternity can drop from any of the enemies approximately once every 6 minutes. Opponents have a low chance of dropping two shards of eternity, and an incredibly low chance of ten at once. Also, for the very first passage of the storyline on the account, the player receives 200 fragments of eternity: 100 for the prologue and 100 for defeating Doctor Doom.

The cost of each specific hero depends on its price category. Most of the characters are in the standard price tier and cost 400 Eternity Shards. Black Widow, Daredevil, Scarlet Witch, Hawkeye, Storm, Thing, and Taskmaster are cheap heroes and will cost you 200 Eternity Shards. Finally, Spider-Man, Deadpool, Iron Man, Ghost Rider, and Doctor Strange are expensive heroes and require 600 Eternity Shards to purchase.

If you don't care which hero to play as, but want something new, you can also buy a random hero for 175 Eternity Shards. The advantage of this approach is that even the highest price tier hero can randomly drop. Until you have at least half of all the heroes, we recommend that you buy random ones, unless of course you are eager to play as your favorite Iron Man. Please note that you may drop a hero that you already have: in this case, you can improve one of the abilities of this hero.

The second way is to buy heroes for real money in the game store. Heroes of the standard price category will cost you 900 G (currency play store), cheap ones at 450 Gs, and expensive ones at 1350 Gs. regular version games or 20 rubles when playing through Steam in the Russian Federation. Accordingly, the cost of most heroes is approximately 200 rubles.

The third way is for developers to periodically distribute random and specific heroes as part of various promotions. Follow the forums and news!

So, you have decided on a hero and started playing. Now what?

We start playing.

The first thing to do is to deal with the main interface of the game and some important settings.

  1. Your hero.
  2. Game chat. Tapping the heading on the side allows you to switch between one of five chat modes: Closed, Open, Open and Pinned, Full Screen, Full Screen and Pinned.

Right-clicking on the experience indicator allows you to switch to the display of additional omega experience, which is accumulated in parallel with the main one.
  6. Additional resource indicator. Not available for all heroes.
  7. Command bar. With the ability panel open, it allows you to assign skills to specific keys. The three indicators on the left indicate the active partner, as well as the cooldown of the partner, ultimate ability and medpack.

  14. The name of the character and an additional indicator of health. Enabled in interface settings.
  15. A pointer to an off-screen target. Provides direction to quest objectives (including bosses) and missed rare items. In the interface settings, you can also enable the display of directions to other players in the group.

  • Automatically join a group when entering a closed location(eng. Join Party When Entering Instance): turn off.

But back to studying the interface of the game. One of the most basic windows for you will be the character panel ( hot key"C").

  1. The name of your current character. The color of the name depends on your prestige level (in short, how many times this hero has been upgraded to the maximum level).
  2. Your character's stat tabs. The first tab contains the main characteristics, the second - detailed specifications, and in the third Short story your character and superhero team affiliation.
  3. Contents of the currently selected feature tab. The main stats tab also contains information about the level of your hero and his overall defense rating and damage.
  4. The main equipment of your character.
  5. Additional equipment for your character.
  6. your inventory. It has a size of 60 slots for various items.
  7. Currency indicator. Here you can check your current number of Odin Signs, Gs and credits.

No less important element of the interface is the ability panel (hot key "P"). With its help, you can determine the direction of character development and adjust it for yourself.

  1. The first branch of abilities.
  2. The second branch of abilities.
  3. The third branch of abilities.
  4. Signed ability (highlighted in purple). Is a fairly strong ability that has little time recovery (usually - from 30 to 60 seconds depending on the character).
  5. Available number of ability points.
  6. Ultimate ability. It is an ability of incredible power that has a long cooldown (about 10 minutes) and unlocks at level 52 (30 for some heroes).
  7. Buttons for confirming the distribution of abilities. To change the choice of ability distribution after confirmation, you will need an ability reset device, which you can get as loot or in the game store.

Next to each ability, its rank is indicated, while the number is colored green if there are bonuses to the ability from equipment, or white if they are not. You can always find out the rank of an ability without equipment by hovering over the plus icon, which also serves directly to allocate ability points.

  1. Tabs for switching between the menu for choosing the main character and partner. A partner is something like a mercenary from Diablo II. We will talk more about partners in one of the future guides.
  2. The companion assigned to the specified hero.
  3. Indicator of active and available storyline difficulty levels. In total, there are three difficulty levels in the game: normal (1-30 levels), heroic (30-50 levels) and superheroic (50-60 levels).
  4. Character level.
  5. Character `s name. The color of the name depends on the level of prestige.
  6. Difficulty level switch. New difficulty levels open as you level up.

Sooner or later, you will no doubt come across the interface of the game store, which can be called up by pressing the hot key "X". Here, for real money, you can buy heroes bypassing the collection of fragments of eternity, countless costumes for them, and much more.

  1. Your current balance G.
  2. A button to buy additional Gs (remember that 100 Gs is approximately equal to 20 rubles or $1).

  4. Heroes page. Here, as you might guess, you can purchase any hero in the game.
  5. Costume page. Here, players are offered a wide range of costumes for each character.
  6. Item page. Here you can find such nice little things as non-combat pets, potions to increase experience or the chance of finding rare items, as well as summoning a holographic merchant, and much more. None of the items allow you to gain superiority in strength over other players, but only allow you to reduce the time spent on some of the actions in the game.
  7. Partner page. Most companions can be purchased here, bypassing the collection of shards of eternity.
  8. Map page. Here you can buy one of the many luck cards - special items that contain a random reward, from the usual experience increase potion to an exclusive costume.
  9. Special offers page where you can find items that have recently been released, are on sale limited time or which are currently discounted.
  10. Kit page. Here you can buy one of the bundles offered by the developers at a discount compared to buying everything separately. Basically, here you can find sets of several heroes or sets of one hero along with one or another costume.
  11. Current ad.
  12. Quick access to the heroes tab.
  13. Quick access to the costumes tab.
  14. Quick access to the items tab.

Marvel Heroes features an extended waypoint system from the Diablo series to move around in the game world. You can access the map interface for moving around the world by clicking on any of the waypoints in the game.

  1. The first tab is storyline waypoints. Here you can move between the main locations of the game, including between cities.
  2. The second tab is terminals. These are special missions in which the main goal is to complete the location and defeat the boss. In fact, the terminals are the development of the idea of boss races from Diablo II. Terminals are available from level 20.
  3. The third tab is tests. These are various additional game modes in which you will spend most of your time at high levels. Here you will find Manhattan Patrol, X-Defense, and S.H.I.E.L.D. Holographic Simulator available from level 1, Fire and Ice PvP mode available from level 20, as well as raid locations that only max heroes can enter, Level 60.
  4. Choice of the story chapter of the destination.
  5. The location of the destination in the game world.
  6. Destination selection. To gain access to a destination, you must first find it in the game.
  7. Description of the destination, including information about the level of characters the location is intended for.
  8. Transfer confirmation to the selected destination.

During the passage of the storyline, your main assistant will be the task log (hot key "L"), which will allow you to determine what you have already done, what you missed and what you need to do.

  1. Select a story chapter or legendary quest. Checkmarks indicate that all tasks in a particular chapter have been completed. The cup icon indicates whether all rewards have been received for completing tasks in a particular chapter. Legendary quests are special missions that the hero begins to receive from level 20. The main purpose of legendary tasks is to diversify the process of monotonous pumping with directions in different areas games, and therefore for them the player receives an additional reward in the form of a large amount of experience and a special game currency - the Signs of Odin.
  2. Selecting a specific task. A tick indicates that the task has been completed, and the cup icon indicates whether a reward has been received for completing a particular task.
  3. Description of the selected task. Here you will find a brief story about the task, the conditions for its completion, as well as various useful tips. When you select a legendary quest here, you can change it to a random new one for a certain number of credits.

The last menu we'll be looking at today is Achievements (hotkey "V"). Oddly enough, but the achievements themselves will be added to the game later and a separate guide will be devoted to them, but now you can find many other useful game systems here.

  1. The tab of the heroes synergy system, which we will dwell on today in detail. Hero synergy allows you to get bonuses for leveling heroes, which will be available to all characters. 10 hero synergies can be active at the same time. You can change synergies at any time while in the city or training room.
  2. The "Omega" system, which is an analogue of the system of alternative achievements from EverQuest and the levels of improvement from Diablo III. We will talk more about it in future guides.
  3. Today's joint assignments. We will talk more about them in future guides.
  4. Achievement system. We will talk more about it in future guides.
  5. Active bonuses from the synergy of heroes and a list of all possible bonuses.
  6. List of synergies of all heroes and activation of each of them.
  7. The sum of all levels of all heroes on the account.
  8. The number of activated synergies.
  9. Buttons for confirming or deselecting synergies.

In general, this is the most basic thing that can be said about the game interface.

What's next?

Now that you've chosen your character and figured out the game's interface, there's only one thing left for you to do: go on an adventure! The world is in danger, and first you have to stop it.

Marvel Heroes is a hybrid of MMORPG and Action RPG, and therefore the gameplay here has features of both genres. All locations in the game are divided into open and closed. In open locations, you are almost always together with other players, and the world gradually regenerates itself. In closed locations, you are alone or in a group of previously invited friends, and as a rule, this is where the storyline of the game develops. However, do not expect something incredible from her, everything is done in best traditions Diablo II: The story is just a pretext to take players through a wide variety of locations in the Marvel Universe.

Unlike other Action RPGs, instead of long acts, here are small story chapters, which are this moment 9 pieces. Each chapter includes several locations and a couple of bosses, and most of them are self-contained fragments of the story. This format allows developers to regularly add new story content, which happens about once every six months.

In future guides, we will continue to explore the various aspects of Marvel Heroes and all the things that can be done in the game.

It's easy for an unprepared person to get confused in the Marvel Universe. Yes, and prepared - too. But don't worry, we'll tell you who to root for, which of the five main superheroes is the most important, and why Scarlett Johansson often speaks broken Russian.

Lev Grinberg Andrey Podshibyakin

There are two countries in the world obsessed with comics - the USA and Japan. Since Russia is not included in this long list, it is not surprising that most of our compatriots treat the painted men in iron shorts somewhat condescendingly, as if they were children's favorites. Meanwhile, some of these pets are older than your great-grandfather, and some US presidents began the morning by studying new series adventures of Spider-Man (and some of them weren't even George W. Bush). However, even if you still don't intend to take comics seriously, you'll need to learn a few things about them if you want to fully enjoy the upcoming Avengers: Age of Ultron movie epic. So, what does the phrase "Thor, Hulk, Captain America and Iron Man save the Earth" mean and why might this be interesting?

There is such a thing - "the universe of comics." It means that all the heroes of comics produced by one company, at one fine moment, crawl out from under the covers of their personal issues and begin to communicate with each other. And then the sales of issues with the title "Hulk is doing Captain America!" doubled. The universe that unites the characters of Marvel comics is one of the largest. In it, Spider-Man, Daredevil and other victims of toxic mutagens quietly coexist with the X-Men. The X-Men are not surprised when Blade, the vampire hunter, runs past. Blade will not honor the aliens with a second glance, and they, in turn, will not consider the appearance of the Scandinavian gods on board something supernatural. It's a crazy, crazy world, yet everything is logical and well thought out - thanks to decades of polishing. The Avengers movies are about the Marvel Universe. An unprepared person does not have to get confused in their characters. Yes, and prepared, in general, too. But don't worry, we'll tell you who to root for, which of the main characters is the most important and why Scarlett Johansson often speaks broken Russian.

Marvel World

Technical progress

The Earth in the Marvel universe is identical to ours in most everyday parameters - they even publish comics based on real events. Similar to ours and their technical progress. But only as long as it does not concern weapons and other military equipment. Thanks to a bunch of mad scientists, technologies from other worlds and the brilliant Stark family, technologies inaccessible to civilians have stepped forward decades. Laser rifles, which appeared during the Second World War, are a worthy example of this.

Fancy Metals

Captain America's shield consists of vibranium, an ultra-light and ultra-strong metal, which, in addition, completely absorbs almost any kinetic impact. The only natural deposits of vibranium are in the lands of the mysterious African nation of Wakanda, and it is mined so little that all the vibranium reserves that the anti-fascist coalition had at one time went to create the Captain's shield. However, in our time, Tony Stark, using the drawings of his father, was able to artificially synthesize vibranium.

If before the release of "Thor" the Marvel Cinematic Universe was limited only to the Earth, and its fantastic elements were limited to accelerated scientific and technological progress, then the appearance of this film turned everything upside down. After all, it turned out that the Earth is located in Midgard, one of the nine dimensions united by the tree of the world - Yggdrasil. At the top is Asgard - the abode of a civilization so advanced that for them science and magic have long become something unified and capable of almost everything. In the Marvel Universe, it was this world that formed the basis of the Norse myths, and not vice versa. And it was from there that both Thor, one of the future Avengers, and Loki, their main enemy, came. The only other world shown to the audience today is the homeland of the ice giants - Jotunheim. However, there was a place on the tree of life for elves, and gnomes, and demons, and three whole worlds of the dead - one for the dishonored, heroes and simple corpses.

Armory of Odin

The ruler of Asgard has a wonderful room that contains a number of incredibly powerful artifacts. The action in Thor revolved around the Ice Casket, capable of freezing any world to the state of Jotunheim, and at the same time rejuvenating its carrier (at least in comics). But there are more interesting things out there. One of them is the Eye of Agamotto, it serves to discover the truth in a variety of ways - from dispelling illusions to reading the souls of people. The other is the Gauntlet of Eternity, granting the wearer unlimited power. Built into the gauntlet are six Stones of Eternity, giving power over souls, time, space, intellect, fulfillment of desires and power. In the comics, the Gauntlet was used against the Avengers by a certain Thanatos.

Heroes and villains

Chris Evans

Previously in film: Captain America: The First Avenger (2011), The Avengers (2012), Captain America: The Winter Soldier

The flimsy but patriotic youth Steve Rogers was so eager to fight Hitler that the US government decided to test a superhero serum on him. As a result, Rogers became not only a super-soldier (very Aryan, it should be noted, appearance), but also a symbol of the American fighting spirit. Captain America prefers a heavy-duty shield to any weapon, the symbolism of which has been written about more than one scientific work. An important turn in Rogers' life comes at the end of the war: he is frozen in arctic ice through the fault of the Nazi supervillain Red Skull. By the start of The Avengers, Captain America has already thawed*, but remains wary of a future in which everything belongs to upstarts and talkers like Tony Stark, and blacks occupy high government positions.

* - Note Phacochoerus "a Funtika: « The story of freezing was not born by chance. After World War II, Captain America switched to fighting communism. However, after the end cold war The communist captain was quickly recognized as an impostor, and this story was invented to explain the disappearance of the real Rogers »

Robert Downey Jr.

Previously in film: Iron Man (2008), Iron Man 2 (2010), The Avengers (2012), Iron Man 3 (2013)

The turning point in the life of billionaire and technical genius Tony Stark was the capture of the Taliban. There it turned out that a fragment of shrapnel was stuck in his chest and that a self-propelled armored suit with flamethrowers built into his hands could be assembled from improvised materials and a soldering iron (in the comics, about the same thing happened, but in Vietnam). Shortly after his release, Stark invents, roughly speaking, an inexhaustible source of energy and uses it for the benefit of all mankind: he builds himself a personal flying suit that is almost impossible to destroy. The situation is further complicated by the fact that in the Marvel tradition, Tony Stark is a drunken alcoholic. Nevertheless, in The Avengers, he is sober, beautiful and effective: Downey Jr. is the funniest joke, the best fight and, in general, seems to get the most out of life. One more detail: especially for the film, Marvel designers came up with new version flying armor - Mark VII. It differs from the previous ones in super-heavy weapons and, how should I say it, so as not to spoil your impressions, increased autonomy.

Mark Ruffalo

Previously in film: Hulk (2003), The Incredible Hulk (2008), The Avengers (2012)

Scientist Bruce Banner is studying gamma radiation. The experiment predictably goes awry, and Banner undergoes a mutation: in moments of emotional stress, the quietest nerd turns into an uncontrollable green giant. Hulk is one of the oldest Marvel characters, and a lot has become known about him over the past fifty years. His strength and rage increase in direct proportion to the damage inflicted on him (in the World War Hulk series, even a nuclear bomb cannot stop a monster). When excited, the Hulk has the intelligence of an idiot. And although the Hulk is five times larger than Banner, the doctor's pants on him never diverge. In the movies, the Hulk was unlucky. Brokeback Mountain director Ang Lee made the first modern film adaptation, and it turned out to be appropriate. The second went to the Frenchman Louis Leterrier, but there was an overlay: the title role was played by contracted Edward Norton, who obviously and terribly suffered. The Avengers finally got it right. Mark Ruffalo looks more convincing, the film finally explains how Banner manages to control himself and not smash the entire planet.

Chris Hemsworth

Thor is not a typical Marvel superhero: he is not a mutant, not a genius, and not a space alien. He is the Scandinavian god of thunder and lightning, the son of Odin and the owner of the monstrous hammer Mjolnir, who landed on Earth due to specific intra-Asgardian circumstances. The comics did not know what to do with him for a long time - at a certain point in the Ultimates series there was even a curious storyline that implied Thor's mental illness. But in the movies, Thor was treated exemplarily, which is not very surprising: Thor's first solo release in 2011 was based on the comics by Jay Michael Straczynski, the screenwriter and creator of Babylon 5, who knows perfectly well how to deal with powerful extraterrestrial life forms. Thor is funny. At first, he is a bit like Ivan the Terrible from "Ivan Vasilievich ..." - he beats dishes and speaks in a high syllable edd. Thor has inhuman strength. In the midst of the "Avengers" is his fight with the invincible Iron Man, and the latter gets you know what. Finally, the main plot of The Avengers is built on Thor and his relatives.

Scarlett Johansson

Previously in film: Iron Man 2 (2010), The Avengers (2012), Captain America: The Winter Soldier (2014)

In the second series of the Iron Man film adventures, the red-haired beauty is hired by Tony Stark as a secretary and, towards the end, discovers serious abilities for hand-to-hand combat and fantastic gadgets. The fact is that the Black Widow is a professional Russian super spy Natasha Romanova (although, in fairness, half a dozen different girls appeared in the comics under the pseudonym Black Widow). In the first Avengers, Natasha-Scarlett spent much more time on screen - in particular, a hilarious scene involving a corrupt Russian general and two unfortunate scumbags is associated with her. She speaks very funny Russian, constantly blows her lips in close-ups and takes interesting poses, being dressed up in a tight leather suit. There is a great chance that out of the entire two-hour multi-figure composition, you will remember it best and specifically - a brilliant remark that Russians are used to the regular fall of regimes.

Jeremy Renner

Previously in film: Thor (2011), The Avengers (2012)

Hawkeye is a super sniper who knows how to hit the right place with a bow, falling backwards from a skyscraper into the epicenter of an explosion. The film somehow ignores the well-known comic book fact: Hawkeye is an expert on any small arms and a master of improvisation. So, in the Ultimates, he kills villains with his own nails, previously torn out with meat.

Samuel L. Jackson

Previously in film: Iron Man (2008), Iron Man 2 (2010), Thor (2011), Captain America: The First Avenger (2011), The Avengers (2012), Captain America: The Winter Soldier ( 2014)

The head of the secret government organization S.H.I.E.L.D. long and complicated history. Sergeant Fury first appeared in military Marvel comics, where he led a detachment of American commandos behind Nazi lines. At that time, Fury was an imposing-looking Italian with gray temples. As a matter of fact, approximately in this form, but already in the rank of colonel, he is still present in the main lines of Marvel comics. But in 2002, in a parallel Ultimate universe, he was reinvented, appointed a general and given a portrait resemblance to Samuel L. Jackson - and now it became clear why. In the movie, Fury has the role of playing coach, he himself shoots only once. True, from a bazooka. True, it misses. But he has to constantly control a gang of superheroes who can’t stand each other, and also shrug off the boring American government, which constantly strives to close the Avengers shop. And then, this is Samuel L. Jackson - when he is on the screen, it always seems that right now he will read from Ezekiel, and then he will take out a lightsaber.

Tom Hiddleston

Previously in film: Thor (2011), The Avengers (2012), Thor 2: The Dark World (2013)

God-trickster of the Scandinavian pantheon in the Marvel universe does not change roles. Moreover, in the comics, his intrigues reach a completely cosmic scale: for example, in the Fear Itself storyline, Loki reincarnates into himself, only at a very tender age, after which he becomes a Parisian sharpie named Serrure. In the first Avengers, everything is much simpler and clearer: Loki unleashes hordes of monsters on Earth. In parallel, he does petty nasty things, allegorically depicts Hitler, brings Natasha Romanov to tears and short-sightedly insults the Hulk. The most interesting thing is that you are even ready to forgive him for this: the actor Hiddleston constantly has a mischievous grin of the main bully of the class on his lips. As a matter of fact, if you imagine that Draco Malfoy grew up, stopped dyeing himself blond, put on a horned helmet and decided to capture Asgard with Midgard, then it would turn out just Loki.

truants

Why is there no Spider-Man or X-Men in the Marvel Cinematic Universe?

Everything is very simple: the rights to these and many other heroes were once sold to various film studios, and returning them back is not an easy task. Actually, on average, the situation is as follows: as long as the license holders continue to use it, releasing more and more new films, the rights remain with them. That's why creations like The Amazing Spider-Man are created - not for the love of comics, but for the sake of maintaining a lucrative license. But there is good news: slowly but surely, the heroes are returning to native home. For example, Sony and Marvel recently agreed to bring Spider-Man back to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Chronicles of the Marvel Universe

Comics existed before, but in the format of newspaper strips. Since 1929, they have been published in separate notebooks, but for almost ten years they drag out a marginal existence in the backyards of mass culture.

Two events change everything: Detective Comics (now DC) releases the first issue of Action Comics with Superman on the cover. And soon publisher Martin Goodman publishes a magazine of fantastic stories Marvel Science Stories. The stories don't sell well, and a year later Goodman launches the Marvel Comics almanac. The official beginning of the "golden age" of comics.

Goodman hires editor-in-chief Joe Simon and artist Jack Kirby, the two responsible for the current style of the comics. By the end of the year, Simon and Kirby take Stanley Lieber as their assistant, but the whole world will soon recognize him under the name of Stan Lee, the editor-in-chief and ideologue of Marvel Comics.

America has not yet entered World War II, but the inevitability of this is already felt. Captain America Comics #1 comes out, on the cover the hero knocks out Hitler.

The first film adaptation of Marvel comics - "Captain America" - is released. This is a series in fifteen parts, which is shown in cinemas immediately after the front-line chronicle.

The Incredible Hulk, Thor, Loki and Spider-Man will debut in the comics.

What does the Marvel Universe include? And what is generally meant by the universe? The multiverse is a world where characters from different comics meet in the same story. A distinctive feature of the Marvel Universe is that most of the events take place on Earth. To date, the number of characters: heroes, villains, Gods, aliens, special agents and civilians - has exceeded fifty thousand. In terms of population, the Marvel Universe is equated to an average American city.

Realism is the main feature of Marvel characters and stories. Unlike DC Comics, the Marvel editorial team loves to create characters with flaws to emphasize their likeness to real people and evoke a sense of empathy in fans.

Heroes of the Marvel Universe

For many years, Captain America was considered the pride of the House of Ideas. The plot enemy of the Red Skull and the unofficial rival of Superman from DC Comics, he instilled patriotism and courage in the hearts of American teenagers. Until in 2016, editor-in-chief Stan Lee declared Cap an undercover agent for the fascist Hydra order. That's all you need to know about Marvel's character policy.

The world of fictional characters Stan Lee includes many interesting life forms. Mutants, vampires, aliens, Scandinavian gods, victims of toxic mutagens, one by one, fight evil and save the world from destruction.

To date, the most popular Marvel heroes according to IGN are Spider-Man, Wolverine and Hulk. The same list includes Captain America, despite his tainted biography. And among female heroes, Jean Gray and Black Widow are popular (largely thanks to the Avengers movie series).

Supervillains from Marvel

Creating antagonists for such "spoiled" superheroes as Iron Man, Blade or Wolverine is not so easy. But the House of Ideas does not need easy ways. Violating the unspoken law of comic book creation, they come up with villains so charismatic that the public falls in love with them at first sight.

Loki, Helmut Zemo, Vulture, Ego are very deep, smart villains whose motives are well developed and understandable to the viewer. And the supervillains Emma Frost, Elektra and Catwoman have long turned into cult figures of our time. Each time, the antagonists enter into a fierce battle with the heroes and anti-heroes of Marvel, giving rise to more and more exciting stories.
