Business plan for the maintenance of payment terminals

We were unwittingly taught to use payment terminals. For example, in order to pay for cellular communication, we resort to their service. You can, of course, use the cashier of a bank branch, but this causes certain inconveniences caused by the need to provide the full details of the recipient. You can find a branch of the operator providing the service and buy a card for replenishment, but it will be easier and faster to use a terminal for payment, which today can be found at every step. Let's see how this system works and where to start making money on it.

Payment terminals as a business can be implemented anywhere. The main thing is that a stream of people steadily floated past him.

Most often we meet them in hypermarkets and near educational institutions, markets, public transport stops, entertainment establishments. Street vending machines are less, since not everyone is ready to get a wallet on the street, so there is a chance that it will simply go to waste.

The payment terminal earns by accepting payment with a commission for the transfer of funds. In addition to the commission from customers who have used the machine, you can count on additional remuneration from the payee. Companies to which the payment is sent usually return about 1% of the amount paid. About 98% of transactions on payment terminals are carried out precisely to replenish the accounts of mobile operators. Payments for fines, rent and electronic communications are popular. The continuity of the money supply cycle is very important. It is necessary to regularly monitor the circulating assets in the electronic machine, to collect it in a timely manner. Otherwise, there will be no trust in your device, and it will not bring you profit. The payback of such a business depends on its location. The proposed types of payment purposes are also important. Where to start a business? With the calculation of costs, including all the important points for its organization.

Business service

The business plan for organizing a payment terminal should include renting a place, purchasing the machine itself, crediting a certain working amount to its account, organizing cash collection, preparing the necessary documents, and spending on an advertising campaign. The device can be purchased for 50,000-100,000 rubles. Then you need to take care of the amount that will have to be frozen in the account for a long time, since it will be in constant circulation to ensure smooth operation. It should be borne in mind that the greater the permeability, the more funds need to be frozen. Cash collection will be needed a couple of times a week. At small retail outlets, they usually want to rent places from 2,000 to 3,000 rubles. In large shopping centers, they will rip off from 10,000 to 20,000 rubles.

There will not be a lot of costs for servicing the terminal itself: cash on a SIM card for connecting to electronic networks and a cash register. An additional thousand rubles a month will be spent on the collection of one device. At the same time, you can earn an average of 5000-7000 rubles per month. And if your machine is installed in a place of a large crowd of people, you can count on 10,000-15,000 rubles. But one should also take into account the widespread competition, which scatters the streams of potential customers and brings small incomes to the owners. That is why the payback period of your payment terminal can be from six months to a year. Customer reviews play a very important role in the promotion of such a service point.

Organization of payment business

According to approximate estimates, the minimum required amount to enter the terminal business is from 15,000 to 30,000 US dollars. Let's consider a plan for a simplified procedure for organizing a terminal business, starting with the selection and purchase of a payment terminal to financial settlements with operators, payment systems and banks.

  1. The owner of the terminal (entrepreneur) buys the terminal - it becomes necessary to conclude an agreement with the organizers of payment systems.
  2. The entrepreneur places the payment machine on his own or rented space, determines the percentage of the commission from each payment, for example, 1-3%, or a fixed fee of 7-10 rubles.
  3. The organizer of the payment system opens a separate deposit for the entrepreneur.
  4. The owner makes an advance payment to this account and receives permission (access) to the information system to control current operations and the state of the deposit on the terminal.
  5. Now the owner can accept payments from clients within the amount on an open account. Information about the payment made goes to the server of the system organizer. The amount of the accepted payment is withdrawn from the entrepreneur's deposit and transferred to the specified details of the service provider.
  6. It is necessary for the owner to check the actual amount on the deposit and, if necessary, replenish the personal account. When crediting and recalculating funds to the account, the bank withholds about 0.1% of the credited amount.
  7. According to the results of the month, the entrepreneur receives remuneration from service providers in addition to a commission from each payment.
  8. The owner pays taxes to the state from the income received. The tax is levied on the profit received from operations with the payment terminal.

What you should start with is an acquaintance with the technical side of the issue of organizing a terminal business.

Expenses required to set up a business

Expense plan:

  • at a time: the cost of a payment terminal with software and connection to the payment system will be from 80,000 to 300,000 rubles;

Monthly:

  • payment for rent of space up to 1 sq. m - 4000-8000 rubles (depending on location);
  • payment for GPRS communication - 600-900 rubles;
  • payment to the bank for crediting to the account and recalculating funds - 0.1% of the payment amount;
  • collection costs;
  • terminal maintenance costs - 3900 rubles: paper replacement - 1000 rubles, box repair - 2000 rubles, communication fee - 900 rubles;
  • income tax.

The income plan consists of:

  • fees charged to customers by the owner for using the terminal - about 4% of each payment or a fixed amount of 10 rubles;
  • the remuneration paid by the service provider on a monthly basis is 1-3%.

It is then easy to calculate the profitability. Suppose that the payment terminal accepts on average 150 payments per transaction day, with an average payment amount of 150 rubles. Let's calculate the approximate payback period if the terminal starts operating in a fairly busy place. Calculation plan: the average payment amount is 150 rubles, the average number of payments per day is 150 rubles, the average commission of the service provider is 2%, the average payment for using the terminal is 3%, our monthly profit will be:

150 rubles * (2 + 3%) * 150 * 30 days = 33 750 rubles.

At the same time, expenses per month: rent - 6,000 rubles, collection - 2,000 rubles, maintenance - 3,900 rubles and deductions to the bank for servicing funds on the account - 0.1% of the turnover (in our case, the turnover is 150 * 150 * 30 days = 675 000 rubles). Thus, we get:

6000 + 2000 + 3900 + 675 = 12,575 rubles.

The costs will also include the payment of income tax, that is, 33,750 * 6% = 2,025 rubles. We will receive an income of 31,725 rubles. Then the net profit will be 19,150 rubles per month. Thus, with average performance and average cost of the terminal, it will pay off in more than 5 months.

Fiscal terminal registrars

It will be impossible to start a business without an accounting system - a fiscal registrar for terminals. On April 1, 2010, Federal Law No. 103 of June 3, 2009 entered into force. According to this Federal Law, today any activity of the terminal can only be carried out using the established fiscal registrar. All entrepreneurs must annually purchase EKLZ (electronic control tape protected).

This block was created to store information for the supervising tax authorities. It stores information about the operations carried out in an encrypted form. And the cost of such a block varies from 7,000 to 8,000 rubles. The entrepreneur must now include the maintenance of such fiscal registrars in the work plan. This can be done at service centers (TSOs), and therefore incur the corresponding additional costs. Fines for activities without fiscal registrars range from 3,000 to 4,000 rubles for individual entrepreneurs and 30,000-40,000 rubles for legal entities. The check must indicate your actual address or the address of your office.
