Nevertheless, universities "advertise" business informatics as a specialty, after which graduates will be able to work wherever they wish. In practice, the situation is different. Promises and ideas about the elitism of this specialty are shattered. Those who have already studied for some time often call business informatics "nonspecialty." But why? Indeed, since mathematics and programming have not “grown together,” there is also an economy!

"Under-economist"

And yet, what will the future work be? Business informatics includes quite a few economic disciplines after studying mathematics. But things are even worse here. The thing is that the economy also needs to be "closely" involved in order to achieve a good result. And in this area they teach "just a little bit." A piece is torn from mathematics, another part is from programming, the rest is from economics.

And chaos reigns in my head. A little knowledge on personnel management, psychology, mathematics, programming, economics, marketing, and so on ... What happens? It turns out that not a single subject is fully taught. There are already many narrower specialists on the labor market who have far from the superficial knowledge that they give on business informatics. It turns out that the promised salaries of 35,000 rubles are just a fairy tale for those who don’t know. Naturally, there is a chance that you will work, as you promise, in the implementation of IT technologies in business, but this can only be done "by acquaintance" and "not by profession." What remains for business informatics? Who to work after graduation?

Hard life

As already mentioned, the graduate expects huge competition in the labor market, and not those who promise so. A person who has graduated from the Faculty of Business Informatics will actually have a hard time. But what to do?

All that remains is the popular areas of work. For example, a manager or sales assistant. This is where students and graduates of business informatics usually work. They will not be able to pretend to "elite" places, since the big name of the direction implies that the guys take "from everywhere a little bit". Not the best option. Students can also work as operators in call centers and various ordinary office workers. So, in the end, the guys will be very disappointed, especially if they study on a fee basis.

There is a replacement

What to do for those who want to work in their specialty and miss a little bit from everywhere? There is such a direction as information management. This, in fact, is the same business informatics, it only sounds less "prestigious", and economic disciplines are studied there more and more persistently.

The direction of preparation of "Business Informatics" has a wide focus and from the first day of training I was sure that there would be no problems with further employment. After two years of study at the university, I decided on the areas that attract me and formed for myself an approximate list of professions that interest me. In the future, every year this list was reduced and by the end of my studies I clearly knew who I wanted to work with.

I use most of the acquired knowledge in the profession, the base that I received at the university makes it easier for me to navigate the new information, economic and mathematical disciplines helped me develop analytical skills, without which there is nowhere in my work.

Try to identify strengths, weaknesses and interests in graduation and go to the direction that you are really interested in. Any person, if he really loves his job, will succeed regardless of whether he has a prestigious degree in a diploma or not. In total, only 2 years are allocated for the study of programming in business informatics, and less than a year for computer science.
