STORIES AND TALES

N. Sladkov. SAINT SAKHARNOV

Svyatoslav Vladimirovich Sakharnov

It was, I remember, twenty-five years ago. I went to the writer Vitaliy Valentinovich Bianchi - at that time we were doing the radio program "News from the Forest" - and I met an unfamiliar sailor with him. Vitaliy Valentinovich, looking at him cunningly, tells me:

Another tormentor of mine! He brought his first story. And how do people manage to write their first stories so badly?

I’m a bit embarrassed: the sailor, the uniform, the order straps ... But the sailor is not embarrassed. It's good. So, he did not think to hit the world with his first story. He understands who he came to and why. Vitali Bianchi is an old and experienced writer. Many listen to his advice.

We met. The sailor - Svyatoslav Vladimirovich Sakharnov - came from the Pacific Ocean. They spoke, of course, about the sea. This was a time when people were especially seriously engaged in the study of the deep sea. We talked about underwater houses, about scuba divers, about the inhabitants of the seabed. We both went down into the water, and we had something to talk about.

Sakharnov told how once a torpedo boat, which he commanded, damaged the propellers. Instead of a diver, he lowered himself to the screws. He went down and gasped: miracles are around! In the land world in which you and I live, animals and birds move their heads forward. And under water? The seahorse is moving head up, the flounder on its side is swimming, and the ten-armed squid does strive with its tail forward! Fairytale world. Nobody even has a shadow!

He was very surprised. He got out and wrote his first story. From surprise ...

A year later we met again. And again, at V.V. Bianchi.

This time Svyatoslav Vladimirovich returned from the Black Sea. He read us a story about how with a mask and fins sank to the bottom. The story was called "Colorful Sea". We liked her very much.

The first marine underwater book for children! - said Vitaliy Valentinovich, when the author finished reading. “We will wait for it to be printed.”

So Svyatoslav Sakharnov became a writer.

Vitaly Valentinovich did not wait for this book. She left after his death.

Now S.V. Sakharnov already has several dozen books.

Sakharnov remembers the advice of V.V. Bianchi. The first of them: the writer must travel a lot and see everything with his own eyes. And he travels a lot. He again visited the Pacific Ocean with trepang fishers. On the Black Sea, he met with scientists studying the life of dolphins. Was on the shores of the Arctic Ocean with white whale hunters - beluga whales. Together with the artist traveled to the Kuril Islands. And they got there in an earthquake. There was a rumor that a giant wave - the tsunami - was about to hit the shore. The newcomers who arrived were scared and rushed to run somewhere, but the artist and Sakharnov remained. After the earthquake, a local fisherman approaches them and says:

I am surprised! Everyone escapes wherever you go, but you stand still and only turn your heads to the sides.

So we have such a job! - answer.

What is this work? - asks the fisherman. - Scientists, or what? Or detectives?

No, I'm an artist, and he is a writer ...

To see for ourselves, to test ourselves - for this, writers and artists travel.

I was with Sakharnov in Africa and India, and there were assistants everywhere - cameras and notebooks, and Sakharnov also had fins and a mask. "See everything with my own eyes ..."

Svyatoslav Vladimirovich brings manuscripts from trips, sometimes thick, sometimes thin, but all about the sea, about sailors.

About sailors is not easy to write. Sailors are a special people. They have to live side by side for more than a year in order to understand everything. Sailors even speak in a special way. The sailor will not say "swam", he will say "go." Everything for the sailors “goes”: the tide “went”, the boat “goes”, the fish, when it starts to catch, also “went”, the anchor, the chain crawls to the deck - also “goes”. Sakharnov’s stories contain many “marine” words, and all of them are in place, all in work. They help us understand the divers when they pick up sunken ships, learn about the hectic work of radio operators, relive the worries and doubts of the old pilot, leading the barge along the moody river.

In addition to marine stories, in recent years Sakharnov has written many tales. He also has thick books for older children; there is one, quite surprising - "On the seas around the Earth. Children's marine encyclopedia." He wrote it, one might say, all his life. He wrote, released how the ship was launched, and now she lives her destiny: she leaves in different countries, travels to book exhibitions, receives prizes in competitions with other books.

Sakharnov’s books are read not only by our children, they are read in Japan, India, Poland, Spain, young Germans and French, British and Czechs read them. They read and recognize our country, our people, learn about the oceans and about sailors: about famous sailors and ordinary sailors.

Everyone saw on the banks or on the walls near the bridges the inscription: "Do not drop anchors!" This is to ensure that the pipes and electrical cables laid along the bottom are not damaged by anchors. But these words can be read in another way: "Do not drop anchors ahead of time, do not change the sea, travel, work!"

Sakharnov is true to this order. There are many seas and countries on our planet. So, the writer is waiting for new travels, and readers - new interesting books.

WHO LIVES IN THE SEA

In the cold sea

A walrus swims over a muddy bottom, digs fangs or silt. I dug up a bed, rakrylil, let's grind lumps with flippers.

You, walrus, only be a gardener!

The garden has nothing to do with it: I get seashells from under the ground. Seashells, they are delicious now!

POLAR BEAR

Ice. In the ice of the ravine. In the ravine, the fish walks.

He wrote, released how the ship was launched, and now she lives her destiny: she leaves in different countries, travels to book exhibitions, receives prizes in competitions with other books.

This: the writer’s happiness is to make such a book.

Sakharnov’s books are read not only by our children, they are read in Japan, India, Poland, Spain, young Germans and French, British and Czechs read them. They read and recognize our country, our people, learn about the oceans and about sailors: about famous sailors and ordinary sailors.

This is to ensure that the pipes and electrical cables laid along the bottom are not damaged by anchors. But these words can be read in another way: "Do not drop anchors ahead of time, do not change the sea, travel, work!"

Svyatoslav Vladimirovich Sakharnov was born in Ukraine. He graduated from the Higher Naval School. Frunze (1944). For military merits during the Great Patriotic War he was awarded many orders and medals. Until the end of the 50s he served in the Pacific Ocean, on the Black Sea. Published since 1954

“I saw, I can’t, I can’t help but tell” - this is the main spring of Sakharnov’s work. Starting with the “Green Fish”, his books attract him with his accurate knowledge of marine realities, entertaining subjects, a variety of forms, freshness and originality of the language. And this is not surprising: often the author was really a participant in the events described. All Sakharnov's works are informative. Children will learn about where he lives, what he eats, how he hides from danger, the name of a huge number of marine inhabitants. In his sea tales, the heroes - marine inhabitants are endowed with characters: among them there are good-natured and villains, merry fools and nerds, dodgers and nonsense. This is a special alloy of cognition and artistry in the traditions of Kipling and Bianchi.

It is logical that with the accumulation and development of marine topics in different genres (miniature, fairy tale, story, story, essay, etc.), the author wanted to try to reflect this in a special form of the marine encyclopedia (“On the seas around the Earth. Children's marine encyclopedia ", 1972). The book consists of a ship traveling around the world from the Baltic through 19 seas and oceans to the Black Sea. Each chapter, named after one of the water spaces, includes a variety of headings; information on the history of geographical discoveries, on the structure of the ship and the most important marine instruments - radar, log, echo sounder, compass - alternate with "stories on the forecastle" and "sea witches"; Navigation charts with the description of the most important naval locations are adjacent to the quizzes that complete each chapter. There is also a special marine dictionary that gives an interpretation of specific marine terms. A child can travel with the ship, and for some, this game, over time, will become a reality.
